Public Involvement Policy

TxDOT commits to purposefully involve the public in planning and project implementation by providing for early, continuous, transparent and effective access to information and decision-making processes. TxDOT will regularly update public involvement methods to include best practices in public involvement and incorporate a range of strategies to encourage broad participation reflective of the needs of the state's population. As adopted by the Texas Transportation Commission on Jan. 27, 2011.

Hearings and Meetings

Public hearings and meetings allow you to participate in the transportation planning process and are a coordinated effort to gather your input. These meetings help you better understand the road, rail and aviation projects that affect your community. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Notices

Notices alert the public about specific milestones in the environmental review process and offers the opportunity to review environmental documents. Notice types include Notice Affording Opportunity for Public Hearing; Notice of Availability of environmental documents, such as an Environmental Impact Statement or Environmental Assessment; and Notice of Finding of no Significant Impact.

Learn more about the types of involvement opportunities and see the hearings, meetings and notices from previous months in the archive.
