Purpose | TxDOT and the City of Pharr are proposing to upgrade Hi Line Road West from South Jackson Road to South Cage Blvd/Highway 281 in Hidalgo County, Texas. The purpose of the proposed Hi Line Road West improvements is to address existing roadway deficiencies, including the absence of pedestrian facilities, and improve traffic operations and mobility within the project limits in Pharr, Hidalgo County, Texas. When complete, the upgraded Hi Line Road would consist of two 12-foot travel lanes, one 14-foot center left-turn lane, and 6-foot sidewalks within a right of way between 60 and 100 feet wide. This notice is affording an opportunity to comment as part of the environmental review process for this project. |
Description | The proposed project would upgrade the existing Hi Line Road West from a two-lane urban roadway to a two-lane urban roadway with a continuous center turn lane and sidewalks from FM 2061/South Jackson Road to US Highway 281/Cage Boulevard in Pharr, Hidalgo County, Texas. The proposed project limits are approximately 1.28 miles long from South Jackson Road to Cage Boulevard within a proposed ROW width between 60 and 100 feet. The proposed roadway would consist of two 12-foot-wide travel lanes, and a 14-foot-wide center left-turn lane, and six-foot sidewalks. Although additional right of way would be required, no residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time. Any environmental documentation or studies, maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at City of Pharr Engineering Department located at 118 S. Cage Boulevard, Pharr, TX 78577, 956-402-4221. |
