PurposeTxDOT San Antonio District is is proposing to realign FM 3009 from Borgfeld/Elbel Road to FM 78 in Guadalupe County, Texas.
Description

The proposed project is approximately 1.7 miles long and will realign FM 3009 to construct an overpass interchange over FM 78 and the Union Pacific Railroad. FM 3009 will tie back into FM 78 on the south side of the roadway and will include ramps onto and off FM 3009 to maintain connectivity. FM 3009 will maintain two 12-foot lanes in each direction of travel, which will be divided by a raised median or rail within the bridge portion of the roadway. FM 78 will maintain two 11-foot lanes in each direction of travel, which will be divided by a widened two-way left-turn lane. The project will also include continuous sidewalks and shared use paths along FM 3009 and a continuous shared use path along the south side of FM 78.

The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require approximately 29.5 acres of new right of way; no residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time. Information concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction can be obtained from the TxDOT San Antonio District office by calling 210-615-1110.

Any environmental documentation or studies, any maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the TxDOT San Antonio District office, located at 4615 NW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78229; please the TxDOT project manager, at 210-556-7044 if you would like to inspect project materials.
