Purpose | The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and Hidalgo County Precinct 4 are proposing to widen FM 1925 from Wallace Road to FM 2061 (McColl Road); a length of 5.2 miles in Hidalgo County, Texas. This notice is affording an opportunity to comment as part of the environmental review process for this project. |
Description | The need for the proposed project begins with the existing two-lane roadway unable to accommodate the existing and projected traffic volumes. The proposed improvements include widening FM 1925 to a 110-foot-wide urban roadway consisting of six 12-foot-wide travel lanes, two 10-foot-wide shoulders, a 16-foot-wide concrete median, and six-foot-wide sidewalks on both sides of the roadway within a proposed 150-foot-wide right of way (ROW). Drainage will be handled via a storm drain system. In May 2019, a public meeting was held and advised the public that Mon-Mack Road south of FM 1925 would be realigned to directly connect to Mon-Mack Road north of FM 1925. During the Right of Way acquisition and design stage, TxDOT determined that due to a utility conflict the realignment of Mon Mack Road would not be feasible. TxDOT is now proposing not to realign Mon-Mack Road. Although additional right-of-way will be required throughout the roadway project, no residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time. Information concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction can be obtained from the TxDOT district office by calling the Right of Way Supervisor at 956-702-6287. Any environmental documentation or studies, maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at TxDOT Pharr District Office, 600 W. Interstate 2, Pharr, TX 78577, please call prior to schedule an appointment. |
