Purpose The purpose of the public meeting is to gather public input and provide information about the proposed reconstruction and widening of FM 407 from Bill Cook Road to FM 1830 in Denton County, Texas.
Description

The approximately 11.5 miles long project proposes to widen the existing two-lane rural, undivided FM 407 roadway to an ultimate six-lane, urban divided facility between Bill Cook Road and FM 1830 in Denton County, TX. The project would include pedestrian and bike accommodations. The existing right-of-way (ROW) varies from 80feet to 90-feet. The proposed ROW varies along the corridor and is generally 140-feet-wide.

The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional ROW and displace six residences. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. Information about the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program and services and benefits for those displaced and other affected property owners, as well as information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction, can be obtained from the TxDOT Dallas District office by calling (214) 320-6675 or by visiting the project website.

The proposed project would involve construction in wetlands and action in a floodplain.
