Purpose The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input and provide information about the proposed improvements to I-20 from FM 2552 to East Bankhead Highway in Parker County, Texas.
Description

TxDOT is proposing to connect existing frontage roads along the I-20 corridor in Weatherford by completing a missing portion of the frontage road system. The objective of this project is to improve mobility, enhance access, and enhance safety including assisting with incident management.

The existing roadway is a four-lane divided freeway with two lanes in each direction separated by a grassy median. It includes 10-foot outside shoulders with cable and concrete traffic barriers along the 6-foot inside shoulders. The proposed improvements include constructing new two-lane frontage roads between FM 2552 and East Bankhead Highway. Additional project elements would include the installation of shared-use paths (SUPs) along the I-20 frontage roads, construction of bridges over Town Creek, and the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) crossing.

The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require approximately 11 acres of additional right of way and potentially displace two non-residential structures. No residences would be displaced.  Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses.

Any environmental documentation or studies, maps, and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for inspection by appointment only (call to schedule) Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the TxDOT Fort Worth District Office, 2501 Southwest Loop 820, Fort Worth, TX 76133. Please call (817) 370-6593 to make an appointment.
