Virtual details The virtual listening session will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation and will include both audio and visual components. The listening session will also include the opportunity to provide comments utilizing a survey and interactive map. Materials will be posted online by Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026, at 5 p.m. and will remain online for at least 15 days.

Note: The in-person option will be held in an open house format. In-person attendees will be able to view the same presentation delivered in the online public listening session which will be playing on a screen, review hard copies of study materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and consultants, and leave written comments.

Purpose The purpose of the listening session is to present information and seek feedback on the study of the SH 73 corridor from 1.3 miles west of FM 1442 to 0.25 miles east of SH 62 in Bridge City, Orange County, Texas. 
Description

TxDOT is studying the SH 73 corridor from 1.3 miles west of FM 1442 to 0.25 miles east of SH 62 in Bridge City, Orange County, Texas. The study will evaluate current and future transportation needs and identify opportunities to improve safety, mobility, connectivity, and travel reliability while supporting the movement of people and goods throughout the corridor.

Accessibility

Study materials are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at TxDOT Beaumont District, located at 8350 Eastex Freeway, Beaumont, TX 77708-1701 or via phone at 409-892-7311. Project materials are also available online at txdot.gov, keyword search “SH 73 Listening Session”.  These materials will also be available in hard copy form for review at the in-person option.

The virtual public meeting and in-person option will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate in the virtual public meeting or in-person option, please contact Public Information Officer (PIO), TxDOT Beaumont District, at 409-898-5745 no later than 4 p.m. CT, Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for the Texas Department of Transportation to arrange.
