| Virtual details | The virtual meeting will consist of a prerecorded video presentation with both audio and visual components. The presentation will be posted to this webpage from 4 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. This meeting offers the public an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed priorities. The Rural TIP is the first step toward producing the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program. Participants may attend either a virtual or in-person presentation to learn more about projects in the Angelina, Houston, Nacogdoches, Polk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Shelby and Trinity counties. Both options will present the same information. |

| Purpose | The purpose of this meeting is to provide information and receive comments on which transportation projects may be coming to your area. The Lufkin District includes Angelina, Houston, Nacogdoches, Polk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Shelby and Trinity counties. |
| Description | The Rural TIP includes all added capacity and regionally significant projects to be funded within a TxDOT District during the next four years, including those eligible for federal funding. This meeting offers the public an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed priorities. The Rural TIP is the first step on the road to producing a Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). The Rural TIP meetings are being held pursuant to Title 43, Texas Administrative Code, Section 16.102, which calls for an opportunity for public comment concerning the Rural TIP. The same information including a short presentation, exhibits explaining how the Rural TIP operates, and projects that are included in it will be available to view at each public meeting. |
