| Purpose | TxDOT proposes to acquire a 255.881-acre parcel of land (Placement Area 41) in Galveston County, Texas, to serve as a placement site for materials dredged from the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW). This acquisition is necessary for TxDOT to fulfill its role as the non-federal sponsor of the GIWW and support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' maintenance and operation of the waterway. An online virtual public hearing will be held to provide information and gather public input on the proposed project. |
