Purpose The purpose of this second public meeting is to present the refined design based on input from the first public meeting held on May 26, 2022.
Description

The proposed project would widen FM 830 from two to four lanes from Old Montgomery Road to SH 75. The proposed design includes a 5-foot-wide sidewalk along the south side of the roadway corridor and a 10-foot-wide side path for bicycles and pedestrians along the north side. Raised and flush medians are proposed along the corridor with breaks for turn-lanes at all intersecting public streets and at major school driveways. The proposed project would involve an action in a floodplain. This project would include construction of four detention ponds within the project limits and would convert the existing open ditch drainage to curb and gutter. The project is approximately 2.5 miles in length. Approximately 14.4 acres of right of way (ROW) would be needed to accommodate the proposed improvements.

Although additional ROW would be required, no residential or commercial displacements are anticipated. Information concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for ROW acquisition may be obtained from the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program by calling the ROW project manager, at 713-802-5291 or by email at as shown in the notice.

Any environmental documentation or studies, maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for review by appointment Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please contact the TxDOT public engagement coordinator, at 713-802-5199 or by email as shown in the notice.
