| Purpose | TxDOT and the City of Temple are proposing to modify SP 290, also known as 3rd Street, between West Avenue A and West Avenue D; 1st Street between West Avenue E and West Avenue G; and West Avenue E between South 7th Street and 1st Street in Bell County, TX. |
| Description | The project consists of the development of two pedestrian walks at the southern portion of the site, a shared-use path at the western side of 3rd Street between West Avenue A and West Avenue E, and the modification of West Avenue D into a cul-de-sac. The project proposes closing South 3rd Street north of West Avenue E for a shared-use path, as well as closing of 1st Street south of East Avenue E to turn into a sidewalk. The project would construct two pedestrian sidewalks on West Avenue E, widen West Ave E for street parking, improve the medians on 3rd Street, and add a right turn lane from southbound 3rd St onto West Ave E. Any environmental documentation or studies, maps, and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday by appointment between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 3210 East Avenue H Building A, Temple, TX 76501. |
