| Purpose | TxDOT is asking for feedback on the February Revision for the 2025 – 2028 Rural Transportation Improvement Program (Rural TIP) |
| Description | The purpose of this meeting is to provide information and receive comments on an expansion project in Wharton County. The Rural TIP includes both grouped projects and individually listed projects that include added-capacity projects and regionally significant projects to be funded outside of MPO boundary, and within a TxDOT district during the next four years, including those eligible for federal funding. Currently there is an expansion project on US 59 (from FM 961 to BU 59 North of El Campo) in Wharton County with a December 2026 let date. The Yoakum District is planning to separate this project into two lettings (CSJ 0089-07-166 and CSJ 0089-07-145). The first phase (CSJ 0089-07-166) will have a December 2026 let date and the second phase (CSJ 0089-07-145) will have a December 2028 let date which will move phase 2 outside of the 2025-2028 Rural TIP. |
