The virtual meeting will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation and will include both audio and visual components. The presentation will be posted online by Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025 at 5 p.m. and will remain online until Sept. 12, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

If you do not have internet access, you may call the TxDOT Wichita Falls District Office at 940-720-7752 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, to ask questions and access study materials during the feasibility study.

In-person details

Additionally, TxDOT is providing an in-person option for individuals who would like to participate in person instead of online. In-person attendees will be able to view the same presentation delivered in the online public meeting which will be playing on a screen, review hard copies of feasibility study materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and/or consultants, and leave written comments. Purpose TxDOT is conducting a feasibility study for the US 82 Relief Route, from FM 2739 to I-35 and from I-35 to the Grayson County line in Cooke County, Texas. The purpose of this feasibility study is to investigate existing and future transportation needs and develop conceptual alternatives to improve mobility, safety, and accessibility along US 82 around Gainesville.
Description

The proposed US 82 Relief Route would consist of an east-west highway loop to the north of the city of Gainesville. The proposed relief route would consist of four lanes (two in each direction) with inside and outside shoulders, divided by a depressed median. The proposed relief route would connect to the existing US 82 to the west near the city of Lindsay and to the east near the city of Oak Ridge and would include a bridge over the BNSR railroad and a crossing at I-35.

The virtual public meeting and in-person option will be conducted in English.
