In-person attendees will be able to view the same presentation delivered in the online public meeting which will be playing on a screen, review hard copies of project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and/or consultants and leave written comments.

Purpose

TxDOT is proposing improvements along 13 miles of I-35 SH 29 to SH 45 North in Williamson County, Texas.

Description

The I-35 Georgetown to Round Rock Project proposes to:

  • Add two non-tolled high-occupancy vehicle managed lanes in each direction.
  • Add one mainlane in each direction between SH 29 and RM 1431.
  • Relocate and modify entrance and exit ramps.
  • Reconstruct several bridges and cross street intersections.
  • Add bypass lanes where needed.
  • Add shared-use paths throughout the corridor.

Any environmental documentation, studies, maps or drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 7901 N. I-35, Austin, TX 78753 or by calling 512-939-3953. Project materials are also available online at www.txdot.gov by searching “I-35 Georgetown to Round Rock”. These materials will also be available in hard copy form for review at the in-person meeting.

The public meeting will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate in the community workshop, please contact the TxDOT Project Manager, TxDOT Austin District, at 512-939-3953, no later than 4 p.m. CT, Monday, Aug. 10, 2026. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for the Texas Department of Transportation to arrange.
