| Virtual details | The virtual public meeting will be available on this page by 4:30 p.m. on May 7, 2026. The virtual public meeting will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation and will include both audio and visual components. The presentation, materials and exhibits available here are the same as those presented at the in-person option. Please note that the presentation will not be available on the website until the date and time listed above. If you do not have internet access, you may call the TxDOT Project Manager at 361-293-4460 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, to ask questions or receive project materials. |
| Open house details | Thursday, May 7, 2026 The in-person option will be held in an open-house format where attendees may come and go at their convenience. In-person attendees will be able to view the same presentation delivered in the online virtual public meeting which will be playing on a screen, review hard copies of project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and/or consultants, and leave written comments. There will not be a live presentation at the in-person event. |
| Purpose | TxDOT is conducting a feasibility study to explore a potential relief route around the City of Sealy. TxDOT will host its second public meeting to present updated information and provide the public with an opportunity to review preliminary route alternatives and provide comments that will help guide next steps. |
| Description | The purpose of the relief route is to help reduce congestion, while also improving safety and mobility. |
| Accessibility | The virtual public meeting and in-person option will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires accommodation to attend and participate in the public meeting, please contact the TxDOT Yoakum District Public Information Officer at 361-293-4436 no later than 4 p.m. CT, Monday, May 4, 2026. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for the Texas Department of Transportation to arrange. | Memorandum of Understanding | The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated July 17, 2025, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT. |
