The public meeting will be held in “open house” format. Attendees will be able to view hard copies of project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and/or consultants, and leave written comments. There will be no formal presentation at this meeting.

Purpose TxDOT is asking for feedback on a potential relief route around the City of Sealy in Austin County, Texas.

The purpose of the relief route is to help reduce congestion, while also improving safety and mobility.

Accessibility

The virtual public meeting and in-person option will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for the Texas Department of Transportation to arrange.

All comments must be received on or before Friday, Feb. 6, 2026 to be a part of the official public meeting record. Responses to comments received will be on file and available for inspection at the TxDOT Yoakum District Office once they have been prepared.

Memorandum of Understanding The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 9, 2019, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.
