| Purpose | The purpose of the public meeting is to provide information and design options for proposed intersection improvements at Business 83 and Pine Street. |
| Description | The proposed project aims to enhance the intersection at Business 83 and Pine Street in Abilene, Texas. Currently, the intersection features a non-standard configuration that creates multiple conflict points, leading to potential safety and operational concerns. To address these issues, the project proposes reconfiguring the intersection into either a conventional T-intersection or a roundabout. Both alternatives are designed to improve driver expectations, streamline traffic flow and significantly reduce the number of conflict points. No additional right-of-way (ROW) acquisition is anticipated for either improvement option. Any environmental documentation or studies, any maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the TxDOT Abilene District Office, 4250 N. Clack St., Abilene, TX, 79601 or by calling 325-676-6800. Project materials are also available online at www.txdot.gov. These materials will also be available in hard copy form for review at the in-person option. |
