Virtual details | The virtual meeting will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation and will include both audio and visual components. The presentation will be posted online on Monday, Sept. 8, 2025, at 5 p.m. and will remain online for at least 15 days, on this webpage. Purpose | The purpose of the public meeting is to gather public input on the proposed improvements to the SL 499 roadway, and to allow the public the opportunity to view project related information and provide comments on the proposed improvements. The presentation content will be the same for both the in-person and virtual meetings. |
Description | The proposed SL 499 project extends approximately 2.35 miles from FM 106 to IH 69E. The improvements consist of reconstructing and widening the existing roadway to add lane capacity, install a raised median, add bicycle and pedestrian accommodations, and improve the bridge crossing the Arroyo Colorado. The existing SL 499 is a six-lane and four-lane principal arterial roadway providing mobility and access to residences, businesses and schools, and linking the roadway network to other urban areas. The proposed project, subject to final design considerations, would require additional right-of-way and potentially displace no residences. One non-residential structure is anticipated to be displaced at this time. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses.
