Virtual details | The virtual public meeting will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation including audio and visual components. The presentation will be posted online on this webpage on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, and remain available for viewing and comments. To be part of the public meeting report, all comments must be submitted or postmarked by Friday, March 7, 2025. If you do not have internet access, you may contact the Pharr District Office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, to ask questions and access project materials during the project development process. |

Purpose | The purpose of the public meeting is to present and gather public input on the proposed improvements to Farm to Market (FM) 88. During the public meeting, the public will have the opportunity to view project-related information and provide comments on the proposed improvements. The presentation content will be the same for in-person and virtual meetings. Comments must be received on or before March 7, 2025, to be part of the official public meeting record. |
Description | The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is proposing to widen and reconstruct Farm-to-Market (FM) 88 from FM 1925 (East Monte Cristo Road) to 5th Avenue (Arcadio Padilla Service Road) in the city of Elsa in Hidalgo County, Texas. The proposed project would widen FM 88 to four lanes with a center two-way left-turn lane and pedestrian accommodations. |

Memorandum of Understanding | The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT. |
