Virtual details The virtual public meeting will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation including audio and visual components. The presentation will be posted online on this webpage on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, and remain available for viewing and comments. To be part of the public meeting report, all comments must be submitted or postmarked by Friday, March 7, 2025. If you do not have internet access, you may contact the Pharr District Office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, to ask questions and access project materials during the project development process.

In-person attendees will be able to view the same presentation delivered in the online public meeting, which will be playing on a screen; review hard copies of project materials; ask questions of TxDOT staff and/or consultants; and leave written comments.
Purpose

The purpose of the public meeting is to present and gather public input on the proposed improvements to Farm to Market (FM) 88. During the public meeting, the public will have the opportunity to view project-related information and provide comments on the proposed improvements. The presentation content will be the same for in-person and virtual meetings. Comments must be received on or before March 7, 2025, to be part of the official public meeting record.

Description The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is proposing to widen and reconstruct Farm-to-Market (FM) 88 from FM 1925 (East Monte Cristo Road) to 5th Avenue (Arcadio Padilla Service Road) in the city of Elsa in Hidalgo County, Texas. The proposed project would widen FM 88 to four lanes with a center two-way left-turn lane and pedestrian accommodations.

TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The public meeting will be in English and Spanish. If you need special communication accommodations or an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability or need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please call the ENV Project Planner at (956) 702-6300 by Feb. 14, 2025. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
