TxDOT is providing an in-person option for individuals who would like to participate in person instead of online. The in-person option will be held in an open house format. In-person attendees will be able to view the same presentation delivered in the online public meeting which will be playing on a screen, review hard copies of project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and/or consultants, and leave written comments.

The proposed project is located on FM 1187 in Aledo, TX. It would extend for approximately 0.6 mile from Maverick Street to FM 5, with improvements extending west along Barnwell Lane and FM 5. Two phases are planned for this project.

Phase 1: The proposed interim project would widen FM 1187 to two 12-foot-wide lanes in each direction, with a curbed center median and left-turn median openings. The intersections of FM 1187 with FM 5 and Barnwell Lane would be improved while maintaining access. The project would realign several FM 1187 curves and add curb and gutter drainage. A 10-foot-wide sidewalk would be constructed along both sides of FM 1187 throughout the project area, with a crosswalk cut out and a left-turn lane at the Aledo Early Childhood Academy. The total additional right of way needed for both phases of the project would be acquired during this phase.

Phase 2: The proposed ultimate configuration for this project would widen FM 1187 to six lanes (three in each direction). This would replace the center left-turn lane and the raised median from the interim project with an additional lane in each direction, without the need for additional right of way at that time.

The virtual public meeting and in-person option will be conducted in English.
