| Purpose | The City of Midlothian andTxDOT are proposing to construct a trail from Shady Grove Road to proposed Trail Bridge #6 (approximately 1-mile west of Rex Odom Drive) in Ellis County, Texas. |
| Description | The project proposes approximately 2.3 miles of trail. A 12-ft-wide concrete trail with a 5-ft shoulder on both sides is proposed within a proposed right of way that varies from approximately 27-ft to 300-ft on either side of the trail center line. Right of way would also be acquired on the north side of Shady Grove Road to accommodate the proposed 12-ft wide trail and ditch. A 5-ft separation is proposed between the edge of travel lane and the trail. The proposed right-of-way along the north side of Shady Grove Road would extend 45-ft from the roadway centerline. A pedestrian bridge is proposed to cross Waxahachie Creek. Although additional ROW would be required, no residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time. Information concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for ROW acquisition and construction can be obtained from Heather Dowell with the City of Midlothian by calling 972-775-7777. The proposed project would involve an action in a floodplain. |
