Purpose The purpose of the hearing is to gather public input and provide information about the proposed construction to install sidewalks, rectangular rapid flashing beacons, and separated bicycle lanes along both sides of Collins Boulevard from Campbell Road to Alma Road as well as intersection and traffic signal improvements at the intersection of Collins Boulevard and Alma Road in Dallas County, Texas.
Description

The current 0.92-mile Collins Boulevard facility consists of four to six lanes separated by a median, and a non-continuous sidewalk on both northbound and southbound sides. The existing southbound side contains a shared-use outside lane.

The proposed project would convert the northbound and southbound outside lanes into separated bicycle lanes. In addition, continuous sidewalks, and rectangular rapid flashing beacons for pedestrians and bicyclists are proposed to be incorporated into this facility. All work would be within the current 100 to 350-foot right of way and existing easements. No displacements or relocations of any kind would be necessary.
