Purpose The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (Mobility Authority), in coordination with TxDOT, is considering improvements to US 290 between SH 130 and east of SH 95 South to increase mobility and safety along this highly congested corridor.
Description

An environmental study and schematic design is underway to evaluate the extension of the 290 Toll from its current end point near SH 130 in Travis County to farther east of SH 95 South in Bastrop County, covering approximately 15 miles. This notice advises the public that the Mobility Authority will be conducting a Virtual Open House on the proposed project with two in-person options.

While the proposed improvements will be determined through this study, the Mobility Authority is considering the possible extension of the 290 Toll from its current end point near SH 130 in Travis County to east of SH 95 South in Bastrop County, along with non-tolled enhancements to intersections and bicycle and pedestrian improvements.

Subject to final design considerations, the proposed project could require additional right-of-way and potentially displace residential and non-residential structures.

Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses, should displacements occur.

The proposed project may involve construction in wetlands.

The proposed project would involve an action in a floodplain.

The Virtual and In-Person Open House will be conducted in English and Spanish. The Mobility Authority and TxDOT are committed to providing access and accommodations to participate in these events.
