Purpose

Transportation infrastructure plays a vital role in facilitating the nation’s trade with Mexico. As the population and economy in the Texas-Mexico border region continue to grow, improving the existing multimodal infrastructure is critical to reduce crossing delays, alleviate traffic congestion, facilitate international trade, lessen environmental impacts, and enhance the quality of life for residents in the border region.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with an opportunity to learn about the Texas-Mexico Border Master Plan and provide input on what is important to those who live and work in the border region and what improvements to the transportation network would be beneficial.

Description
The BTMP is a binational, comprehensive, multimodal long-range plan that identifies current and future transportation needs, challenges, opportunities and strategies for moving people and goods safely and efficiently across the Texas-Mexico border, the border regions and beyond.

The BTMP serves as the foundation for TxDOT’s border-planning efforts, developed in collaboration with U.S. and Mexican stakeholders and the public after extensive technical analysis. The BTMP Update will provide strategic recommendations to enhance mobility, safety, trade and resiliency along the 1,254-mile Texas-Mexico border, which includes 34 border crossings.
Accessibility The virtual public meeting will be conducted in both English and Spanish. If you need additional interpretation or translation services or are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to participate, please call 915-990-1418 or email. Please be aware that advance notice is required, as some services and accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
