| Virtual details | Please note this is not a live event. Meeting materials may be viewed at your convenience and will be available on this webpage by 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026 and will remain online through 11:59 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2026. The virtual meeting will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation and will include both audio and visual components. If you do not have internet access, you may leave a voicemail for the TxDOT Lubbock District Projects team at 806-748-4450 to ask questions, leave comments and request access to project materials during the project development process. |
| In-person details | Additionally, TxDOT is providing an in-person option for individuals who would like to participate in-person instead of online. The in-person option will be held in an open house format. In-person attendees will be able to view the same presentation provided in the virtual public meeting which will be playing on a screen, review hard copies of project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and/or consultants, and leave written comments. The in-person option will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the TxDOT Lubbock District Headquarters Training Center, 135 Slaton Rd., Lubbock, TX, 79404. |
| Purpose | The purpose of this meeting is to provide information and receive comments the proposed project. |
| Description | TxDOT is preparing plans to replace the SL 289 bridges that cross Slide Road in the City of Lubbock. The bridges have reached their lifespan and will be replaced with one bridge structure in the existing footprint of SL 289. There are no plans to add travel lanes or relocate ramps for SL 289. There are detours planned and temporary closures to access in necessary areas. Any environmental documentation or studies, any maps and drawings showing the project location and design, are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the TxDOT Lubbock District Office, 135 Slaton Rd., Lubbock, TX, 79404 by appointment with project staff. Maps and drawings with the project location and design will also be available on the project meeting webpage. |
| Accessibility | The virtual public meeting and in-person option will be conducted in English, the virtual presentation and project documents will also be available in Spanish. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English or Spanish are not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English or Spanish, one will be provided to you.
