PurposeTxDOT is holding an in-person meeting with a virtual option to discuss improvements to the US Highway (US) 84 at Business US Highway (BU) 77 Potts Interchange in McLennan County, Texas. The purpose of the public meeting is to receive public comment on the proposed improvements for the project.
Description

The proposed improvements include replacing the existing at-grade intersection of BU 77 and the US 84 frontage roads with a two-lane roundabout, reconstructing the US 84 overpass, and realigning Hillsboro Drive to improve connectivity. The project would also reconstruct BU 77 from Interstate Highway (IH) 35 to Parrish Street into an urban boulevard, construct shared-use paths throughout the corridor, modify local access connections, and introduce cul-de-sacs at select locations. Surrounding land uses are predominantly commercial near the interchange, with residential and other uses located within the broader project area.

The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional right of way (ROW) and potentially displace one commercial outbuilding and one mobile commercial structure. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. Information about the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program and services and benefits for those displaced and other affected property owners, as well as information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction, can be obtained from the TxDOT Waco District Office by calling 254-867-2700.

The proposed project would involve construction in wetlands and would involve action in a floodplain.

Environmental documentation or studies, maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the TxDOT Waco District office, 100 S Loop Drive, Waco, TX 76704. These materials will also be available in hard copy form for review at the in-person option.
