Virtual details | The virtual public meeting will be available on this page on Jan. 30, 2025, by 5 p.m. The virtual public meeting will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation and will include both audio and visual components. The presentation, materials, and exhibits available here are the same as those presented at the in-person option. Please note that the presentation will not be available on the website until the date and time listed above. If you do not have internet access, you may call the Environmental Coordinator, at 361-808-2509 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, to ask questions or receive project materials. |
In-person details | Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025, from 5 – 7 p.m. Odem Junior High School The in-person option will be held in an open house format. In-person attendees will be able to view the same presentation delivered in the online virtual public meeting which will be playing on a screen, review hard copies of project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and/or consultants, and leave written comments. There will not be a live presentation at the in-person event. |
Description | TxDOT is continuing the environmental studies and project development process for the US 77 Odem Project. To meet interstate standards as part of future Interstate 69 East (I-69 E), the proposed project would include a combination of upgrades to existing US 77 as well as a portion of new location freeway. The proposed project would include two mainlanes in each direction with overpasses and on and off ramps that would provide connectivity to local roadways. |
Purpose | The purpose of the virtual public meeting with in-person option is for participants to learn about the process TxDOT follows, view a pre-recorded presentation and supporting project exhibits, and ask questions and submit comments. |
Accessibility | The virtual public meeting and in-person option will be conducted in English, with Spanish materials available online and in-person. Call Rickey Dailey at 361-808-2544 no later than 4 p.m., Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, to request special accommodations. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these needs. |

How to make a comment | Written comments from the public regarding the proposed project are requested. Comments must be postmarked or received by Friday, Feb. 14, 2025, to be included as part of the official meeting record. Responses to comments received will be prepared by TxDOT and made available online at www.txdot.gov once they have been prepared.
