Fleet Operations Division

The Fleet Operations Division (FOD) supports TxDOT’s mission and goals by managing approximately 13,000 fleet assets statewide, including both ground vehicles and equipment and aircraft operated through TxDOT Flight Services. The division ensures reliable equipment for TxDOT districts and divisions through preventive maintenance, repair, and replacement programs. FOD works to maximize equipment utilization, strategically replace and acquire assets, support emergency operations, and provide flight services for state agencies.

FOD oversees 29 fleet repair and maintenance shops and a production shop that manufactures customized equipment and parts. The division’s Flight Services section operates a fleet of six aircraft based at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) and provides maintenance and other services for other state agency aircraft. Through Flight Services, the division supports safe, efficient travel for state and federal officials, employees, and government contractors conducting official State of Texas business.
