Materials and Tests Division Director

Ryan C. Barborak, P.E., is director of Materials and Tests.

Barborak began his career with TxDOT in January 2006 working as an engineering assistant in the Construction Division Rigid Pavement and Concrete Materials Branch. In January 2013, he accepted a position as a transportation engineer in the Flexible Pavements Branch of the Construction Division. In December 2018, he was appointed director of the Flexible Pavements section of Materials and Tests. In August 2020, Barborak was appointed as the deputy division director of the Materials and Tests Division. He was appointed as the Materials and Tests Division director in September 2021.

Barborak earned his bachelor of science degree and master of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003 and 2005.
