Advanced Air Mobility Advisory Committee

SB 2144, which establishes new Texas Transportation Code Section 21.0045, charges the committee with assessing current state law and any potential changes to state law that are needed to facilitate the implementation of advanced air mobility technology in this state.

SB 2144 calls for the committee to hold public hearings in locations across the state or via electronic means and receive comments through an Internet website, by mail, and by other methods, if appropriate.

The committee will submit to the commission and the legislature a written report that includes the committee’s findings and recommendations on any changes to state law that are needed to facilitate the implementation of advanced air mobility technology in this state.

The Texas Transportation Commission established and adopted rules at the October 26, 2023 Texas Transportation Commission meeting to lay the groundwork for the committee.  Two additional members were approved at the November 16, 2023 Texas Transportation Commission meeting.
