I-35 NEX Central - request for information (RFI)

TxDOT is seeking information to assist in the development and procurement of the I-35 Northeast Expansion (NEX) Project.

TxDOT has issued a Request for Information (RFI) solely to obtain information to assist TxDOT. It does not constitute a Request for Qualifications (RFQ), a Request for Proposals (RFP), or other solicitation document, nor does it represent a commitment to issue an RFQ or an RFP in the future.

This RFI does not commit TxDOT to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. TxDOT will not pay for any information provided or reimburse any cost or expense incurred in response to this RFI.

TxDOT is also conducting an Industry Workshop for teams interested in entering into a design-build contract (DBC) to develop, design, construct and maintain the I-35 Northeast Expansion Project in Bexar, Guadalupe, and Comal counties. The project consists of approximately 15.4 miles of non-tolled improvements along I-35 from I-410 South to FM 1103.

Update: On March 13, 2020, TxDOT decided to eliminate Deferred Work Component (DWC) South and DWC North from this procurement and to proceed with only the base (central) component of the project. Proceeding with the central component ensures that the project is consistent with secured funding, reducing uncertainty and avoiding the need for proposers to spend resources on a proposal that could include components of the project that may never be implemented under this procurement.
