Authorizations and approvals
On April 28, 2016, the Texas Transportation Commission (TTC), in Minute Order 114563, authorized TxDOT to issue a request for qualifications (RFQ) to design, develop, construct, and potentially maintain the Southern Gateway Project.
An Industry Workshop was held on May 25, 2016.
On July 1, 2016, TxDOT posted the list of qualification teams and their equity members for the Southern Gateway project. On Aug. 3, 2016, TxDOT released the short list of the most qualified teams to compete for the Southern Gateway project design-build agreement. These teams were invited to submit a detailed proposal.
A Southern Gateway Forum for the project was held on September 29, 2016.
