Prepare for severe weather
Tornados are a destructive result of some of the severe storms that we have in Texas that consist of strong rotating winds. When you hear a tornado watch or warning, pull over and seek shelter immediately if traveling within the affected area. If outside the affected area, be aware of your surroundings. Tornados are fast storms that can happen any time there is severe weather.
Other safety precautions:
- Listen to local reports and watch for flash floods and other rapidly changing conditions.
- Don't park under bridges.
