Purpose | The Texas Department of Transportation Bryan District is proposing to widen SH 105 from SH 249 to SH 6 in Grimes County, Texas. This notice advises the public that TxDOT will be conducting a public meeting on the proposed project. The goal of the project is to reduce congestion, enhance safety, and improve regional mobility along SH 105. |
Description | The proposed project would widen the existing two-lane highway to a four-lane divided highway, two lanes in each direction separated by a grass median. The improvements would include construction of a direct connect interchange at the intersection of SH 6 and SH 105. The direct connect interchange would connect SH 105 westbound to SH 6 northbound and SH 6 southbound to SH 105 eastbound. Additionally, the intersection of SH 105 with FM 362 and CR 415 would be reconfigured to a grade-separated overpass. The project length is approximately 6.5 miles. Any environmental documentation or studies, maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for inspection by appointment Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at TxDOT Bryan District Office, 2591 North Earl Rudder Freeway, Bryan, Texas 77803, 979-778-9231. This information will also be available at the meeting. |

All comments must be received on or before Friday, October 4, 2024, to be included as part of the official public meeting record. Responses to comments received will be on file and available for inspection at the TxDOT Bryan District Office once they have been prepared. |
Memorandum of Understanding | The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT. |
