In-person details

Burnet County and TxDOT are hosting an in-person public meeting to gather feedback on the Wirtz Dam Road project.

No formal presentation is planned, and community members are invited to come and go at their convenience.

Thursday, Aug. 20, 2024
5 - 7 p.m.
Marble Falls Public Library
101 Main Street
Marble Falls, TX 78654

Purpose The purpose of the meeting is to collect input from the public to ensure the project aligns with the mobility and safety needs of the community and reflects the values of the community.
Description

Population and economic growth have led to increased traffic and reduced mobility along major corridors, such as US 281, in Burnet County. Currently, Wirtz Dam Road (County Road 426) is an undivided two-lane roadway which extends from RM 1431 to the Colorado River and from the Colorado River to RM 2147.

Burnet County, in coordination with TxDOT, is planning to reconstruct Wirtz Dam Road to be a two-lane, undivided roadway with paved shoulders from RM 1431 to RM 2147, build a new bridge over Lake Marble Falls, and add left-turn and right-turn lanes as well as deceleration and acceleration lanes at multiple locations.

Accessibility The public meeting will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate, please contact Brad Hamer, Environmental Services Manager, Environmental Research Group, LLC, at Brad.Hamer@envrg.com or 512-329-0031 no later than 4 p.m. CT, Aug. 19, 2023. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time to arrange.
