When:

The virtual public meeting will began at noon on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, and will be available through Friday, July 2, 2021.

Purpose:

TxDOT is hosting a virtual public meeting for proposed improvements to US 285 in Reeves and Culberson counties from the New Mexico state line to Business Interstate 20 in Reeves County, a distance of approximately 52 miles.

The virtual meeting will consist of a virtual room and will include visual components and an opportunity to comment. Comments must be received or postmarked on or before Friday, July 2, 2021, to be a part of the official meeting record.

Description:

The proposed US 285 North project includes widening to a four-lane divided highway with two lanes in each direction as well as both inside and outside shoulders, and a wide center median and/or barrier. In addition, median openings would be provided as needed based on traffic data. Median openings will include left turn/deceleration lanes. It has not been determined how much additional right of way may be required or whether the project will involve construction in wetlands or floodplains.
