Virtual Consultation Meeting

We look forward to your participation in the virtual consultation meeting hosted by TxDOT. The meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

This year’s virtual consultation will include a series of facilitated discussions, tribal presentations and breakout presentations from TxDOT and partners. You will have the opportunity to hear from the Houston Museum of Natural Science, learn about TxDOT’s proposed digital Paleoindian Exhibit, Tribal Histories Project, wildlife crossings and research on cadaver dogs.

Morning sessions will be closed-door government-to-government consultation meetings with Tribal Nations, Texas SHPO, TxDOT and invited federal partners.

Consultation Principles

TxDOT:

  • Practices and promotes cultural sensitivity when working with tribes.
  • Honors the spirit of the NHPA consultation process.
  • Commits to providing meaningful and substantive consultation with tribes on transportation projects.
  • Promotes collaborative consultation opportunities during planning and review process with TxDOT.
