TxDOT continues advancing toward a model-based project delivery approach, for applicable projects, that fully integrates 3D models into design and construction workflows. Applicable projects are any project that has alignment work and/or has cross sections. While the ultimate goal is to adopt the model-as-the-legal-deliverable, TxDOT recognizes the need for a phased implementation period to allow for workspace buildout, training, and procedural development.
