ARRPO assists TxDOT in identifying transportation issues in the region and their objective is to develop and prioritize short- and long-range regional transportation plans in cooperation with TxDOT.This partnership provides a forum for public participation in transportation planning process and to assist TxDOT San Antonio District in developing and prioritizing projects for inclusion in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.

County workshops

From January to April 2022 TxDOT and ARRPO will be hosting workshops in the respective 12 rural counties leading up to the San Antonio Rural Transportation Improvement Program (Rural TIP) public meeting. The ARRPO region includes Atascosa, Bandera, Frio, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Gillespie, McMullen, Medina, and Wilson county, the San Antonio District also covers Uvalde county for the purposes of the Rural TIP.This effort mirrors a similar effort that was undertaken by the partners in the 2015-2016 time frame.
