South Padre Island Second Access Project
Public involvement is a critical component of TxDOT’s project development process. TxDOT encourages public input on mobility and safety concerns within the study area, the proposed alternatives, environmental constraints, or any future development plans.

Feedback received
Approximately 700 comments were received between 2008 and 2012 on the South Padre Island Second Access Project. The majority of these comments expressed support for the project. Concerns were also expressed including environmental impacts, recreational impacts, traffic congestion, and project funding.
