FM 516 in Ward County
Project overview
TxDOT's Odessa District is proposing to reconstruct and widen FM 516 from 1.7 miles west of CR 157 to 0.05 miles south of CR 137, in Ward County, Texas.
The proposed project would consist of reconstructing the travel lanes and shoulders to create a new two-lane roadway with wider outside shoulders. The road would include two undivided 12-foot-wide travel lanes (one in each direction) with 10-foot-wide outside shoulders located within an estimated 100 to 120-foot wide right of way. The proposed project is 7.7 miles long and begins on the north side of the town of Barstow, Ward County, Texas.
Right Of Way needs
The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional ROW and potentially displace one residential structure and one non-residential structure. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. Information about the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program and services and benefits for those displaced and other affected property owners, as well as information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction, can be obtained from the TxDOT district office by calling (432) 498-4645.
