SH 30 (Harvey Road) Widening

TxDOT Bryan District is developing plans to widen SH 30 (Harvey Road) from SH 6 to FM 158 in Brazos County, Texas. The proposed improvements would enhance safety, reduce congestion, and improve mobility along the SH 30 corridor.

The project is being developed in collaboration with the member agencies of the Bryan College Station Metropolitan Planning Organization (BCS MPO), under the 2022 Brazos County Transportation Road Improvement Program, to meet current and future traffic demand attributed to development growth in the area.

Proposed improvements

The existing SH 30 is a two-lane roadway, one lane in each direction, with approximately 10-foot wide outside shoulders and intermittent center turn lanes. Sidewalks and bicycle accommodations are limited within the project limits.

Proposed SH 30 improvements include the following:

  • Reconfiguring/widening the existing two-lane undivided roadway.
  • Providing pedestrian and bicycle accommodations.
  • Replacing the existing bridge structures.

Right of way acquisition is anticipated for this project. The proposed SH 30 project is in the preliminary design phase which includes developing the geometric schematic design and conducting environmental studies. Construction is not anticipated to begin until 2030.
