FM 2347 George Bush Drive Interchange

TxDOT’s Bryan District is developing plans for the intersection of FM 2154 (Wellborn Road) and FM 2347 (George Bush Drive) in Brazos County, Texas. This intersection serves as a key intersection for Texas A&M University, especially during Aggie Gameday.

The existing intersection is no longer able to handle the growing number of students and travelers near the Texas A&M University campus.

The project would improve mobility and safety by separating vehicular, pedestrian and train traffic. The project is currently planned to begin construction in 2026.

Currently the TxDOT Bryan District is managing the planning, schematic, and environmental work in collaboration with consultants. Due to the project’s location near UPRR, this project will require extensive coordination with the railroad which is an ongoing effort.

Proposed improvements

FM 2347 (George Bush Drive) will move to below grade at the Union Pacific Railroad crossing. The project will also accommodate pedestrian traffic above FM 2154 (Wellborn Road) for increased pedestrian safety. Thru traffic on FM 2154 (Wellborn Road) will be accommodated with fly overs to promote increased mobility. Additional information about the project can be found on the Bush-Wellborn Crossing website.
