Purpose TxDOT is conducting a study to examine the feasibility of extending FM 2271 in Bell County. Extending FM 2271 could increase connectivity in the area by offering additional travel options to residents and visitors. Recommendations resulting from this feasibility study will need to go through the Killeen-Temple Metropolitan Planning Organization prioritization process, as well as TxDOT’s project development process prior to any construction. Members of the public can review the results of the preliminary alternatives evaluation and can provide feedback on the alternatives being recommended for the inclusion in the feasibility study report. These alternatives were developed using technical data and analysis, as well as public input collected since the study launch.
Description As population and traffic volumes continue to increase, the FM 2271 corridor has experienced greater mobility issues. The potential improvements could provide more access and allow for better connectivity in the region.
