TxDOT is conducting a virtual public meeting to propose improvements along approximately 2.9 miles of U.S. Highway 277 (US 277) from US 67 to 0.93 miles north of Farm-to-Market Road 2105 (FM 2105) in Tom Green County near San Angelo, Texas. The virtual public meeting (no in-person meeting) will include a pre-recorded presentation which will be available for viewing on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, at 4 p.m. until Jan. 20, 2021, at 4 p.m. If you do not have internet access, you may call (325) 947-9202 to ask questions about the project and access project materials at any time during the project development process. Comments must be received on or before Jan. 20, 2021, to be included in the official record.
The proposed improvements would include:
- Converting the existing minor roadway to a rural highway section with frontage roads
- Increasing capacity from two lanes to four lanes (two in each direction)
- Adding a vegetated median with cable traffic barrier between main lanes
- Including turn-around lanes at grade-separated intersections
Potential right-of-way needs are anticipated to total approximately 40.2 acres. No residential or commercial displacements are anticipated.
The virtual public meeting will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language, or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. To make arrangements for any of these needs, please contact Becki Perkins, San Angelo District Environmental Specialist, at (325) 947-9202 no later than 4 p.m. CT, Jan. 4, 2021. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
