TxDOT is proposing to realign a portion of FM 1053 from FM 11 in Imperial, Texas to 10 miles south of FM 1450, in Pecos County, Texas. This notice advises the public that TxDOT will be conducting a virtual public meeting regarding the proposed project.

Description:

The virtual meeting will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation and will include both audio and visual components. If you do not have internet access, you may call Greg Vowels, P.E., at (214) 217-2234, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, to ask questions about the project and access project materials at any time during the project development process.

Additionally, TxDOT is providing an in-person option for individuals who would like to participate in person instead of online. In-person attendees will be able to view the same presentation delivered in the online public meeting which will be playing on a screen, review hard copies of project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and/or consultants from a socially distanced approach, and leave written comments.

Written comments from the public regarding the proposed project are requested and may be submitted by mail to Freese and Nichols at 801 Cherry Street, Suite 2800, Fort Worth, TX 76102. Written comments may also be submitted by email. All comments must be received on or before Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021. Responses to comments received will be available online once they have been prepared.

Due to a subsidence feature, TxDOT is proposing to realign a portion of FM 1053. The existing limits of the FM 1053 roadway to be realigned are from FM 11 in Imperial, Texas to 10 miles south of FM 1450. This portion of FM 1053 is proposed to be realigned to the existing Buena Vista Road, from FM 11, approximately 5 miles southeast of the current FM 1053 intersection with FM 11, to 10 miles south of FM 1450. As a result of the realignment, FM 1450 would also be extended from its current intersection with FM 1053 to the new FM 1053 roadway, using the existing 7 Mile Road. The new roads would be built to TxDOT standards.

Although additional right of way would be required, no residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time. Information concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction can be obtained from the TxDOT Odessa District Office by calling (214) 217-2234.

If you have any general questions or concerns regarding the proposed project or the virtual meeting or in-person option, please contact Greg Vowels, P.E, Freese and Nichols, at (214-) 217-2234 or email.
