The purpose of the meeting is to outline the planning process and to gather input on the possible realignment of FM 1776 in the area of FM 1450 in Pecos County.

Description:

The project area stretches from approximately two miles north of FM 1450 to two miles south of FM 1450. Project phasing will also be discussed. Maps of the area and other displays will be available for review and comment. TxDOT staff will be available to answer questions.

The meeting will consist of an open house from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by a brief presentation and a question-and-answer session.

The Odessa District of TxDOT proposes to realign FM 1776 to remove the offset intersection and provide a continuous alignment for FM 1776 across FM 1450 in northwest Pecos County. The purpose of the proposed project is to correct operational deficiencies and increase mobility. Relocation of FM 1776 will require the acquisition of new right of way as well as relocation of some utilities. TxDOT wants to have a robust discussion of the proposed location to ensure it is the best solution for property owners, area residents, the traveling public and the Odessa District of TxDOT.

Written comments from the public regarding the project are requested and may be submitted at the meeting, in person, or by mail to the TxDOT Odessa District Office. Comments must be postmarked by Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, to be part of the official meeting record.

Comments from the public regarding these improvements are encouraged. Comments may be submitted either at the public meeting or in writing within 10 days after the public meeting. Comments may be mailed to 3901 East Highway 80, Odessa, TX, 79761.

The meeting will be conducted in English. People interested in attending the meeting who have special communication or accommodation needs are encouraged to call the TxDOT Odessa District Public Information Office at (432) 498-4746, at least two working days prior to the meeting. TxDOT will make every reasonable effort to accommodate other special needs, as required.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
