Purpose The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is proposing a relief route around the east side of Pecos. This proposed relief route would help long-term safety, mobility, and connectivity needs on US 285 for both through traffic and local travel. TxDOT is requesting input on the proposed alignment and interchange configurations.
Description

The proposed roadway would generally consist of a new divided highway including two mainlanes in each direction and two one-way frontage roads in each direction separated by a lowered grassy median. The project would also include new interchanges at major intersections and shared use paths. The overall project length would be approximately 10 miles. The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional right of way and potentially displace no residential structures and two non-residential structures.
