Purpose | The TxDOT Lufkin District will be conducting an online virtual public meeting with an in-person option to present the proposed upgrade of US 59 and reconstruction of the US 59/US 259 interchange to meet interstate standards from FM 343 to 1.2 miles north of US 259 in Nacogdoches County, Texas. In-person attendees will be able to view the same presentation delivered in the virtual public meeting, review hard copies of project materials, ask questions, and leave written comments. |
Description | The 2.5-mile-long project would include:
The proposed improvements, subject to final design considerations, would require approximately 55 acres of additional right of way and potentially displace 15 residences and six non-residential structures. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. Information about the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program and services and benefits for those displaced and other affected property owners, as well as information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction, can be obtained from the TxDOT district office by calling 936-633-4383. |
