Purpose:

The purpose of the public meeting is to gather public input on the proposed alternatives to SH 249 from BW 8 to I-45 North in Harris County. The meeting will be an open house format so the public may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions.

Description:

Proposed alternative improvements include the following:

  • Addition of at-grade lanes
  • Addition of at-grade lanes as well as grade separations at major intersections

The build alternatives would also include pedestrian and bicycle accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. The proposed project would require additional right of way, resulting in potential displacements. The purpose of the project is to enhance mobility and operational efficiency.

Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
